Incentivized Testnet week 4 - Goracle

Goracle’s Incentivized Testnet enters its fourth week, where the most technical tasks begin. Node runners will get their chance to test out the Goracle node software, and developers will get a chance to test making calls to the data feeds endpoints. This marks an important phase in the development of Goracle’s decentralized oracle network, as it allows participants to gain hands-on experience running the node software and contributing to the network’s security.

As with the previous weeks, completing tasks and providing feedback will earn participants points that can be redeemed for $GORA tokens at the end of the testnet. Haven’t started? Register here.

Goracle Node

The Goracle node software is the backbone of the network, responsible for validating transactions and ensuring that the oracle data being written to the blockchain is accurate and trustworthy. As such, it is a critical component of Goracle’s infrastructure and must be thoroughly tested before the network can go live. By having the largest node network of any oracle, Goracle will be able to deliver large amounts of data faster, while being the most decentralized.

Nodes are randomly assigned voting power, and votes for correct data are verified on-chain.

During Week 4, node runners will have the opportunity to download and run the Goracle node software, connect to the Goracle network, and participate in block validation. Goracle focuses heavily and user experience, and aims to allow node runners to install and run a node in a matter of minutes. Instructions on installing the node can be found here. Data Feeds

Goracle doesn’t just provide a list of spot prices for crypto. Developers can also make calls to various aggregated data feeds, such as DeFi, Sports, weather, insurance flight, blockchain, and custom data, all on-chain. Goracle focuses heavily on UI, and developers can use the Data Explorer to build queries, see results and code samples before writing a line of code.

Developers can use the Data Explorer to get up to speed quickly.

Running the Goracle node software and developing with the data feeds requires some technical knowledge, and the team has provided documentation to guide participants through the process. Additionally, the Goracle team will be available on Discord and Telegram to answer any questions and provide support to participants in various. Goracle with work with platforms such as Gitcoin on providing developer tasks and rewards. The brightest prototypes will receive an invite to a future accelerator. Overall, Week 4 marks an important milestone in the development of Goracle’s decentralized oracle network. By allowing node runners to test the node software and contribute to the network’s security, the Goracle team is taking important steps towards ensuring the network’s stability and readiness for launch.
